PHAP ASSURES NO MEDICINE PRICE INCREASE

The Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines, composed of more than 50 Filipino and global drug companies, assured the government and the public that its members have not increased prices of medicines given the current emergency situation caused by tropical storm “Ondoy”.

PHAP supports greater access to healthcare through Project NARS


PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal Arroyo received the signed Memorandum of Agreement detailing the commitment of the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP) to the government’s Project Nurses Assigned in Rural Service (NARS). PHAP, through the PHAPCares Foundation, will sponsor an additional 100 nurses for deployment to 20 poorest municipalities in the country as part of its advocacy to promote greater access to healthcare.

PHAP STATEMENT ON THE SIGNING OF THE IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CHEAPER MEDICINES ACT

The Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines supports the effective implementation of the Universally Accessible Quality and Cheaper Medicines Act of 2008 with the publication of its final Implementing Rules and Regulations. PHAP appreciates the public and private sector consultations initiated by the Department of Health and the Intellectual Property Office in the process of drafting the IRR.
